Payment Platform Fee Calculator
Annual cost of payment platform fees.
Calculate annual payment platform fees from monthly transaction volume and fee structure. Enter percentage fee and flat fee per transaction to see annual fees.
What this tool does
This calculator models the annual cost of payment platform fees based on your transaction activity. It combines two common fee structures: a percentage charge applied to your monthly transaction volume, plus a flat fee multiplied by the number of transactions you process each month. The result shows your estimated annual fees in total currency terms and as an effective rate relative to your volume. The calculation is useful for comparing fee structures across platforms or understanding how transaction patterns affect overall processing costs. Results assume fees remain constant throughout the year and don't account for volume discounts, seasonal variation, or any additional charges beyond the percentage and per-transaction fees you enter. The output is for cost estimation purposes only.
Quick answer: with the default values, the result is $9,900.00 (Annual Platform Fees). Adjust the values below for your own figures.

50,000 in monthly card payment volume across 300 transactions at 1.5% + 0.25 per transaction: 750 percentage + 75 flat = 825 monthly = 9,900 annual. Fees are often reported in aggregate; itemising separates the percentage and flat components.
Quick example
With monthly volume of 50,000 and percentage fee of 1.5% (plus flat fee per transaction of 0.25 and monthly transactions of 300), the result is 9,900.00.

What's happening under the hood
% fee × volume + flat × tx count, × 12.
What the result tells you
The Effective Rate shown is total fees as a share of volume, including the flat-fee component, so it usually sits above the headline percentage fee.
Where to go next
This calculation rarely sits alone in a planning exercise. If you're running these numbers, related tools include the mobile money fee calculator, the cost reduction impact calculator, and the payment processing fee calculator — each one answers a different question in the same territory.
Two fees that scale differently
Payment processing has two components that behave differently, and the mix matters more than either rate alone. The percentage scales with revenue while the flat fee scales with transaction count, so average order value decides which dominates. At the defaults, 50,000 of monthly volume across 300 transactions costs 750 in percentage fees and 75 in flat fees, reaching 9,900 a year.
Why average order value decides the rate
Average order value is the lever the headline rate hides. The same 300 transactions on a 167 average cost 0.15% in flat fees; split into 3,000 transactions at 16.70 each, the flat component alone would reach 750 a month and double the total. Cross-border surcharges, currency conversion, chargeback fees, and refunds where the original fee is not returned all sit outside the calculation and add to the effective rate.
Processing £50,000 in monthly volume at 1.5% plus £0.25 per transaction results in $9,900.00 annually.

Sources & Methodology
Methodology
This calculator computes annual payment platform fees by modeling a two-component fee structure applied monthly, then annualized. For each month, the calculator applies the percentage-based fee to your monthly transaction volume and adds the flat per-transaction fee multiplied by your monthly transaction count. These two monthly fee components are summed, then multiplied by twelve to project the annual cost. The model assumes a constant fee structure throughout the year, with the percentage rate and flat fee per transaction remaining unchanged. It treats transaction volume and count as steady month-to-month. The calculator does not account for tiered or volume-discount pricing structures, seasonal fluctuations, failed transactions, refunds, chargebacks, gateway fees, or other ancillary costs that may apply in practice.
